- Pythagoras of Samos was an ancient Ionian Greek philosopher and mathematician.
- What did he do for a job?
- Pythagoras was an ancient philosopher and mathematician.
- Why did he do that?
- I don’t know,
- What was his claim to fame?
- He figured out that A squared + B squared = C squared on a triangle.
- He later named this theorem the Pythagorean Theorem.
- What is the importance of his theorem?
- You can now work out the length of the hypotenuse of a triangle
- Explain where it can be used.

- Prove the theorem with two diagrams showing your understanding. Make sure that you show all of your working out. Label your thinking around your diagrams.
