Change Makers - Term 3 Inquiry

This term we are focusing on people who have made a positive difference to the world (or their part of it).
This is some of my work.
Who can we identify as change makers?
Why?
What actions + decisions do they take?
What do you think motivates change makers?
What might change makers do to motivate others?
People who somehow make a change in the world. Because they have made a difference.
They decide that they are going to do something about the thing they think that they can improve on.
Things that they see that they think they can make nicer or better for the world.
Persevere and make your dreams your reality, even if everyone else thinks its impossible, if you believe, you can do anything!

Reading: 'Wonder' Reflection

Here is my reflection of the book Wonder that we have been reading this term. Here is my character description! Please click on it and it will enlarge for you...

Inquiry Reflection

This is my inquiry reflection answering my inquiry questions. I am also using a 3, 2, 1 template to show my learning. A 3, 2, 1 template is where I write three things I learnt, two thing I found interesting and one question I still have. Here it is!

My questions!
What is Alzheimer's Disease?
How does it affect the human machine?

My Answers!
Alzheimer's Disease is a disease that slowly shrinks you brain and affects all of your five senses.
Alzheimer's disease affects your human machine because it is shrinking your brain and takes control over what you do, so you are now not the ruler of that body. Alzheimer's disease is also a terminal disease so you
will eventually die from it. :(

I learnt...
Where our internal organs are
How our body system works
Why we need to eat healthy

Interesting things...
Blondes are supposed to have more hair than people with other coloured hair
Our body is made up of 55-65% water

I still want to know...
Why are we made up of so much water ?

My Dance Elective

For the last term on a Thursday afternoon we have been splitting up and going to our chosen elective. An elective is an extra activity that we do on Thursday afternoons in term 2 & 3. At the end of term 1 & 2 we get given a form to fill out and bring back saying which is our first, second and third choice elective and the faster you bring the form back the elective you want to do most, is probably going to be the one you get into. If you do not bring your elective form back in time then you get put into a random elective. Well enough talk about electives this is the 1970's & 2000's group practising their dances for the production! (I am in the 70's the group at the back,)

My Ode to My Thumbs

Here is an ode that I wrote to my thumbs:

 Thumbs

Oh Thumbs, Oh Thumbs
My double jointed wonders
Without you i’d be bummed
Because we have such fun down under
The palms of my hands

With thumbs
Humans write
People use them to play drums
and most of all use them to recite

Humans and Monkeys
The only living that are worthy
The lucky ones with thumbs

Te Reo: Te Tinana

For te reo we have been learning how to say maori body parts. Here is my show me showing you how to say some body parts correctly. Enjoy!
